A booking photograph is an intake artifact created or retained in connection with an arrest or custody record. It may help distinguish people with the same name, especially when paired with a booking or MDOC number. The image alone does not establish guilt, sentence, release date, release reason, or current location. Those facts come from the jail docket, court file, MDOC record, or another responsible agency.
The Mississippi Public Records Act at Miss. Code §25-61-3(b) includes photographs and documentary material used, prepared, possessed, or retained in public-body business within the public-record definition. Access remains subject to exemptions, redaction, and the agency's reasonable procedures. Section 25-61-12 allows law enforcement to withhold investigative reports at its discretion while addressing incident-report access and victim identifiers. The BOP locator is a federal custody-status tool, not a county mugshot archive. U.S. Marshals Service policy expressly says it does not release public prisoner photographs. A federal result therefore should not be used to promise an image. For local releases, the sheriff request remains the direct route; for state prisoners, use MDOC.
Note: A photo can identify an agency record, but only the docket or release document can establish when that custody episode ended.

The page is useful for reaching the record custodian, not for browsing released mugshots. A current web zero should lead to a focused call or written request rather than an unofficial gallery.
Search results frequently confuse Wilkinson County, Mississippi with Wilkinson County, Georgia. A 478 telephone code or an Irwinton address signals Georgia. Mississippi's sheriff contact uses the 601-888 numbers and the Woodville address. Confirming the state before matching a photo prevents a serious same-name and same-county-name error.
Request a Wilkinson County Booking Photo
No county-specific booking-photo form, posted fee schedule, office hours, or image policy was found. A narrow written request gives the Sheriff's Office enough context to locate an existing record and separate releasable material from any exempt portion. It is the appropriate official image channel for a person serving an MDOC sentence at Wilkinson County Correctional Facility, the CWC, the TVC, or another state placement. Search by MDOC ID when possible and compare date of birth and other descriptors.
An MDOC image is not a substitute for a Wilkinson County sheriff booking photo. It does not prove the sheriff took or retains the same image. It also does not establish current custody or actual release. The public MDOC detail may show a Tentative Release Date, which is a forecast. For a past event, request the release or discharge certificate and time sheet.
If the person appears in the active Parolee Search, that result supports release from physical state incarceration onto parole on the search date. It does not mean all supervision ended. Preserve the MDOC number so the photo and status can be traced to the same state record.
News and Private Wilkinson Photo Copies
A dated news report or agency press release may retain an arrest image after an official page changes. It proves only what that publication said at that time. Use it to identify the likely agency, date, and booking or case, then return to the sheriff docket, MDOC detail, or court record. Do not infer a conviction or current status from the picture.
Private mugshot and aggregation pages can be stale, mislabeled, or confused with Georgia. No commercial source should control a release conclusion, and no commercial mugshot or removal service is endorsed here. Avoid paying for a claim that an image will disappear. Preserve only information needed to resolve the official identity and custody episode.
A registry image has a separate limit. Mississippi's registry can display a photo for a person who has a qualifying registration duty, but it is not a general arrest-photo or release archive. Registry appearance does not supply the Wilkinson jail release manner or date, and absence does not answer those questions either.

Miss. Code §99-19-71(4) provides a petition path for certain arrests followed by dismissal, dropped charges, no disposition, or acquittal.
