Wilkinson CWC Release Destinations
Wilkinson County Community Work Center is an MDOC placement. It is not a county work-release program controlled by the sheriff. MDOC describes minimum-security residents, gradual reintroduction, counseling, GED work, and religious programming. Those community-facing features describe the placement. They do not establish parole, earned-release supervision, or sentence discharge.
A resident may leave for another MDOC facility, begin community supervision, discharge the sentence, or move under another lawful hold. An internal transfer ends the CWC placement while state custody continues. Parole or earned-release supervision places the person outside secure incarceration but under continuing conditions. Maximum discharge is a different event. Each needs its own supporting state record.
| CWC outcome | Custody meaning | Record to check |
|---|---|---|
| Another MDOC placement | State custody continues | Location and location-change fields |
| Parole | Release to active state supervision | Parolee Search and certificate |
| Earned-release supervision | Community placement under MDOC control | Time sheet and Community Corrections |
| Discharge | Documented end of state sentence control | Release or discharge certificate |
Confirm a Wilkinson CWC Release
Use the MDOC Inmate Search because CWC status belongs to the state system. The form takes a first name, last name, or MDOC ID. An MDOC number reduces same-name risk. If only a name is available, verify date of birth and other displayed descriptors before using the record.
- Open the matching offender detail and record the MDOC number, exact location, and location-change date.
- Read each sentence and preserve the exact “Tentative Release Date” label when it appears. Do not treat it as an actual event.
- Search the active Parolee Search. A correct match confirms active parole, not the end of all state control.
- Ask Community Corrections to verify the assigned office when status shows parole or another community-supervision form.
- Request the MDOC time sheet and release or discharge document when searches remain unclear or a historical result is needed.
The public inmate tool was not verified as a complete archive of fully discharged people. A missing result cannot stand alone. VINE can add event notice, while the sentencing court can explain legal authority, but the actual MDOC document is the stronger proof of a CWC release. County-jail records do not control this state placement.
Wilkinson CWC Release Contacts
The official MDOC CWC page identifies the placement and local contact. The facility can route an operational question, but MDOC is the custodian for sentence computation and formal release or discharge material. Use the state record rather than asking the Wilkinson County sheriff to interpret a CWC departure.

Wilkinson CWC Placement Records
CWC is the step-down setting among Wilkinson County's MDOC locations. Minimum security and gradual reintroduction can make a resident look close to release, but neither term supplies an actual date. MDOC's sentence record still controls. Counseling, GED, religious programming, and community activity describe what occurs during the placement rather than a final custody outcome.
The statewide offender detail can show current location, unit, MDOC entry date, sentences, location-change date, and a tentative release date where populated. That date can change with sentence structure, eligible credits, disciplinary events, parole action, detainers, or correction of source data. For an already released person, an actual event document and supervision record are stronger than an old projection.

- Parole
- Board-authorized release from incarceration with active supervision.
- Earned-release supervision
- Community placement that continues MDOC jurisdiction and offender status.
- Discharge

Wilkinson CWC Is Not Release
Wilkinson's custody labels can obscure status. WCCF is a private prison operated by MTC under MDOC contract. CWC is a minimum-security MDOC step-down placement. TVC addresses supervision violations. The sheriff's jail handles local booking. Four facilities in one county therefore connect to two different record owners and several distinct kinds of legal control.
For CWC, a resident's work or community presence should never be rewritten as freedom from the sentence. The named placement and MDOC status remain decisive. If the location changes to another state facility, that is a transfer. If the active Parolee Search returns the correct person, physical confinement has ended on parole while supervision continues. If MDOC issues a discharge certificate, the record supports the sentence endpoint it identifies.
CWC and TVC share the same Prison Lane address and main telephone, which makes name-level verification especially important. Ask staff which placement the person was assigned to. Then match the answer to the offender detail, any location-change date, and the formal MDOC event. Address alone cannot distinguish gradual reintroduction from a technical-violation sanction.
Note: At 84 Prison Lane, the exact MDOC placement name matters more than the shared street address.
Wilkinson CWC Release Holds
Another agency's hold can change where a resident goes at the end of a CWC placement. The MDOC release or transfer record should name the receiving authority. Delivery to a county on a warrant, federal authorities, or immigration custody is not a community release, even when MDOC closes or changes its own physical placement entry.
No official source established that Wilkinson County has a current ICE detention contract. Immigration routing is conditional and should be used only when the actual record identifies it. The ICE Online Detainee Locator can check current ICE or certain extended CBP custody with an A-number and country of birth or biographical data. It is not a full historical archive.
A U.S. Marshals transfer has its own limit. USMS uses contract detention and offers no general public historical release locator. A later BOP record may apply after a federal sentence, but it covers the federal episode rather than the earlier CWC event. Preserve the receiving agency, transfer date, and exact wording from MDOC so the custody chain remains clear.
Request Wilkinson CWC Release Proof
MDOC's written request process is the durable fallback when the public search is absent, ambiguous, or too current to show a past result. Ask for the specific existing records that resolve the event. A broad request for the entire field file may reach exempt investigative, private, victim, or supervision material and can obscure the narrower release question.
MDOC policy lists inspection and copying on working days from 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. after applicable payment. It lists fifteen cents per page and may add the lowest-qualified employee cost after the first hour, plus vendor and mailing expense. The agency may require an advance estimate or payment. It does not have to create a record or reformat data.
| Document | CWC fact it can establish |
|---|---|
| Offender data sheet | Identity, MDOC number, sentence, and placement context |
| Time sheet | Sentence computation and adjusted dates |
| Release paperwork | Actual event, mechanism, and destination |
| Discharge certificate | End of the stated state-control period |
Mississippi public-record rules allow exemptions, reasonable procedures, and cost recovery. Ask for an itemized estimate and segregable nonexempt parts. A court judgment can confirm the sentence or amended order, while MDOC's operational record establishes what happened at the CWC endpoint.
Mississippi VINE can supplement the records chain when the contributing agency reports a status event. Search the full name, compare available identity cues, and preserve the agency and event time. A notice that one agency released a person may reflect a transfer into another part of MDOC. It does not override the CWC placement or release document. Confirm any alert with MDOC and Community Corrections before assigning a destination.
The active Parolee Search is more specific. A correctly matched entry shows that MDOC classifies the person as actively paroled on the search date. It does not cover every person on probation or earned-release supervision, and later absence is not historical proof that parole never occurred. When the current list no longer answers the question, request the parole certificate, time sheet, and discharge material.
Build the result around exact terms. “Left CWC for another MDOC location,” “began active parole,” and “discharged from MDOC” describe three different outcomes. Avoid calling any of them simply free. A clean custody chain records the CWC endpoint first, then the state supervision or receiving-agency status that follows it.
